More About His Excellency
His Excellency Sheikh Saif bin Ahmed Al Thani was appointed Director of the Government Communications Office in June 2015.
On 4 November 2018, His Excellency was appointed as board member to the National Tourism Council.
His Excellency the Director of the Government Communications Office worked as Senior International Relations Officer at the Prime Minister’s Office between 2013 and 2015, before being appointed as Director of the Government Communications Office in 2015.
Between 2011 and 2013, His Excellency served as Senior International Relations Officer at the Ministry of Interior.
Between 2010 and 2011, His Excellency was the Assistant Director of Research at the Doha International Family Institute.
His Excellency the Director of the Government Communications Office has a BA in International Relations from Richmond, The American International University in London, and an MA in Political Communications from City University London.
His Excellency the Director of the Government Communications Office has overall responsibility for all communications issues including:
- Coordinating communications across government and public sector funded agencies
- Supporting various ministries and government entities to respond to media inquiries
- Communicating the government’s priorities and programmes
