Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a new strain of Coronavirus initially identified in Wuhan, China, that is affecting communities across the globe. The State of Qatar has successfully taken relevant precautionary measures based on the latest guidance by the national health authorities and international organisations to prevent the spread of previous and current variants of COVID-19. The State of Qatar has put out efforts to counter the spread of COVID-19 by opening new medical facilities as well as launching a vaccination campaign free of charge to all citizens and residents of the country.

The Ministry of Public Health urges all citizens and residents to apply preventive measures to protect against infection as recommended by the Ministry on its website and social media accounts.

A dedicated, round-the-clock call centre has been set up to answer all questions and enquiries related to COVID-19. The hotline number is 16000 and is toll-free.
