HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 13th Community College of Qatar graduation ceremony, celebrating 872 graduates for completing their diplomas and bachelor’s degrees.
HE congratulated the graduates and their families, stating: “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the graduates of the Community College on the fruits of their labour, and to the families and community who supported them. You are the pride of this nation and the foundation of its bright future. Whether this is the start of your career or a continuation of your academic journey, we look forward to your contributions that will further raise our nation’s standing.”
HE also honoured 53 distinguished graduates from various fields, including administrative sciences, science and technology, and arts and humanities.
Dr Khaled Mohammed Al Horr, President of the Community College, emphasised in his speech that the college’s graduates are essential to Qatar’s development, especially in light of the country’s ambitious goals for advancing the national workforce under the Third National Development Strategy. He remarked: “The National Development Strategy aims to create a future-ready workforce by empowering citizens to thrive in the job market. The Community College is proud to contribute to these goals through its specialised academic programs.”
He continued: “Since its founding in 2010, the college has reached significant milestones, awarding over 7,000 degrees to more than 5,300 graduates and preparing over 3,300 students to continue their academic journey at Qatar University. Today, the college proudly enrolls around 9,000 Qatari students, making it the largest national college in Qatar.”
“In line with the objectives of the National Development Strategy to empower Qatari talent,” he added, “the college has successfully increased nationalisation of academic positions from 7 percent to over 20 percent in just two years. We are committed to further increase this rate in collaboration with government and academic partners.”
The Community College of Qatar offers a range of associate diplomas and bachelor’s degree programs tailored to meet Qatar’s labour market needs. Working closely with prominent national institutions, including ministries and government agencies, the college delivers programs specifically designed to address their staffing requirements. This approach underscores the college’s commitment to fulfilling labour market demands and supporting sustainable development, in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
