HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs honours Shafallah Center 2024 graduates
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the 2024 Shafallah Center graduation ceremony today.
Forty-three students received their graduation honours, which were presented by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, ahead of a distinguished audience of ministers, senior officials and families. HE also unveiled an art installation, a gift from Qatar Museums to the Shafallah Center, commemorating the dedicated efforts of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.
HE Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, said: “We are proud to see our Shafallah Center affiliates graduate under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, who also graced us by unveiling the art piece: Infinite Love. This truly reflects the endless love our community has for the children of Shafallah. I encourage them to maintain their creative spirit and continue their valuable contributions to nation-building.”
In her address, Maryam bint Saif Al Suwaidi, Shafallah Center Executive Director, said: “We are proud of our affiliates’ graduation, which represents the culmination of years of dedicated work to equip our students with the skills needed for their social integration.”
She added: “This year also celebrates the Shafallah Center’s silver jubilee, marking 25 years since its establishment. We are grateful for HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser’s vision, support and blessing, who has shown unwavering commitment to our centre and to people with disabilities. Throughout these years, we have worked to empower and facilitate their integration into society, reflecting our leadership’s commitment to human rights, particularly those of people with disabilities.”
The 2024 graduating class received specialised education and rehabilitation services adhering to the highest international standards. The program focused on developing their individual capabilities, elevating their skills and facilitating their successful social integration.
The Shafallah Center was established in 1999 by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser to provide exceptional educational and rehabilitation services to individuals with cognitive disabilities and autism, under the age of 21.
The centre, which operates under the Qatar Social Work Foundation—an organisation under the Ministry of Social Development and Family—aims to foster social integration and independence for its students. For the 2024-2025 academic year, it serves over 640 affiliates.
