Prime Minister chairs first board meeting of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy

HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, in its new formation pursuant to Amiri Decision No. (70) of 2024. The meeting supports continued coordination across state entities to ensure the country remains ready to host major sporting events to the highest standards.

The meeting reflects Qatar’s commitment to building on the legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and other major sporting events, which showcased the country’s advanced infrastructure, enhanced its capability to host major international sporting events and helped cultivate skilled professionals and strong institutional experience.

The Board outlined its mandate for the next stage, including strategy oversight, alignment with the national event ecosystem, infrastructure readiness and monitoring operational programs, ensuring the Committee continues to deliver major international events with excellence.

In closing, the Board affirmed the need to sustain top international standards and maximise the legacy of infrastructure and expertise to enhance Qatar’s standing as a premier global hub for major events.
