Prime Minister honours winners of the second Qatar Government Excellence Award
HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, honoured the winning ministries and government entities at the second edition of the Qatar Government Excellence Award, organised by the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, recognising their achievements in strengthening institutional performance and improving the quality of government services and celebrating the tangible progress they have achieved in this regard.
HE the Prime Minister congratulated the award winners, affirming in a post on X that the award represents a key milestone in advancing digital transformation. He said: “I congratulate the winners of the second edition of the Qatar Government Excellence Award, through which we continue our journey of strengthening digital transformation and consolidating the concept of constructive competition among government entities. We urge all institutions to enhance a spirit of positive competition in delivering services that meet the aspirations of our wise leadership toward a more efficient and innovative government.”
HE Dr Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and Secretary-General of the National Planning Council, affirmed that the award reflects one of the key outcomes of the Third National Development Strategy, namely “Government Excellence,” and supports the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030.

In remarks delivered during the ceremony, HE noted that the award has become a national platform for promoting a culture of excellence, contributing to a qualitative shift in government performance by strengthening the focus on results and impact and expanding sustainable institutional practices that support continuous development and improvement.
The second edition of the Qatar Government Excellence Award comprised seven categories, including four main awards and three specialised subs-awards. The participating ministries and government entities were distributed into competitive groups according to the criteria of the Qatar Government Excellence Model.
The next edition will introduce a new category titled “Leadership in Artificial Intelligence Applications,” recognising government entities that successfully employ artificial intelligence to deliver innovative solutions, enhance service quality, and improve operational efficiency.
The Qatar Government Excellence Award was launched pursuant to Amiri Decision No. (63) of 2023 to enhance government performance, encourage competition in quality, development, and excellence among government entities and employees, and recognise outstanding achievements across all contributing categories, in support of Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to transform Qatar into an advanced nation capable of achieving sustainable development and ensuring dignified living for its people, generation after generation.
