100 days to Web Summit Qatar 2025

Qatar is gearing up to host thousands of startups, entrepreneurs, investors and prominent figures from around the world at its second edition of Web Summit, set to take place in Doha in just 100 days.

Web Summit, described as the largest global event in the tech industry, is expected to organise Web Summit Qatar 2025 next February, drawing attendance from 20,000+ participants. The event is also expecting a 50% surge in applications to join the Qatar Startup program, in addition to a 30% increase in participating country delegations compared to the previous edition, further consolidating Qatar’s position as a regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, highlighted the event’s growing significance, stressing that the summit has firmly established itself as a landmark event on the Middle East’s major events calendar.

“The summit provides an ideal platform to foster innovation, secure funding, build connections and support startups in their journey towards growth and success,” said Sheikh Jassim, adding that this success is attested to by the fact that 95% of first-edition participants have expressed their desire to come again to attend the upcoming edition. In addition, two-thirds of participants have said they looked forward to relocating to Doha while 300 businesses have lodged applications to expand to Doha.

The GCO Director and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee additionally stated that the high level of interest reflects the big impact that the summit has achieved and highlights its leading role in promoting the business landscape and in supporting Qatar’s promising tech sector.

Sheikh Jassim added that we are keen on continually building on this momentum during the upcoming summit, further stressing Qatar’s capacity to become a leading global hub for entrepreneurship, innovation and technology. This is made possible, he added, by launching initiatives to support emerging businesses from around the world, further attracting foreign investment and foreign companies into the country in line with its Third National Development Strategy.

Web Summit CEO Paddy Cosgrave commended the success of Web Summit Qatar, saying: “All indicators show that the event will grow to the limit of the venue. That will be driven by international participation, not just from across the Middle East, but from India, Africa, the United States, North America and Europe.”

Cosgrave also encouraged startups to seize this opportunity: “I believe Web Summit Qatar 2025 is the best opportunity for startups next year to go meet key players in that region.”

The second edition of Web Summit Qatar brings together some of the world’s leading innovators, including Hosam Arab, CEO of Tabby; Sara Sabry, founder and CEO of the Deep Space Initiative; Yassine Saidi, Chief Product Officer at Under Armour; Joy Robins, Global Chief Advertising Officer at The New York Times; Betsabeh Madani Hermann, Global Head of Research at Philips; Noor Sweid, founder of Global Ventures; and Eng Amani Alazzam, Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jordan.
