HH The Amir patronises QU graduation

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, patronised the graduation ceremony of Qatar University’s (QU) 49th cohort, class of 2026, held this morning at QU’s Sports and Events Complex.

HH The Amir honoured 180 outstanding students across disciplines, while the remaining 902 graduates received their degrees from Dr Omar Mohammed Al Ansari, President of QU.

In a post on his official account on X, HH The Amir congratulated QU students on reaching an important milestone in their academic journey, wishing them continued success and expressing hope that they would contribute to the progress of the nation and its comprehensive development ambitions.

The ceremony was attended by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, alongside a number of sheikhs and ministers, members of QU’s Board of Trustees, senior officials, and parents.

In his remarks, Dr Omar Al Ansari said that QU is progressing steadily in delivering its strategic vision, aimed at strengthening its position locally and globally.

Addressing graduates, he added: “What we celebrate today is not merely degrees, but minds shaped, values instilled, and capabilities ready to contribute to the future. As you enter a rapidly changing world, remember that those who learn how to think will always find their way. Commitment, integrity, and excellence remain the foundations that guide the path forward.”

On behalf of the graduates, Abdullah Khalid Al Kaabi, a graduate of the College of Medicine, said: “This journey was never ours alone. It lived in the hearts of those who believed in us before we believed in ourselves, our parents. We offer this moment to you first and always. To our professors, the guardians of knowledge, you did not give us words to memorise, but opened pathways that turned knowledge into understanding and discernment.”

Qatar University continues to prioritise the development of national talent equipped to meet labour market needs, supporting Qatar’s sustainable development and strengthening key sectors with skilled, responsible graduates.
