His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the World Teachers’ Day 2026 celebration, held under his patronage and organised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education under the theme ‘Giving that bears fruit for generations’.

HE the Prime Minister honoured 80 teachers from government schools for their outstanding work in education, recognising their role in raising the quality of learning, building students’ abilities and skills, and instilling the values that shape their character and prepare them for the future.

HE the Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at honouring teachers from various government schools, whose efforts and dedication will leave a lasting mark on generations to come. He thanked them, and all teachers, for instilling values and principles in their students and preparing future generations.

In her speech, Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education, highlighted the standing of teachers and the weight of the mission they carry. She noted that a teacher’s impact lies not in a single day’s lesson, but in what stays with students throughout their lives, which speaks to the great responsibility teachers carry in shaping generations and building the future.

She added that attracting talent from among citizens, those born in Qatar, and residents into the education sector is a priority for the Ministry, which is working with relevant entities to strengthen and expand this approach.

An accompanying exhibition showcased outstanding educational projects and applied research by students and teachers, highlighting the teacher’s role in building students’ research, thinking, and innovation skills, and in using knowledge and modern technology to improve teaching practices and learning outcomes.

The celebration reflects the Ministry’s commitment to recognising teachers, highlighting their role in nurturing generations, and raising public awareness of the value of their work, in line with the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, which places education and human capacity building at the heart of a sustainable, knowledge-based society.
