Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in Teachers’ Day celebrations

HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s World Teachers’ Day celebrations held under the theme ‘Giving that Bears Generations.’

During the ceremony, attended by HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, along with senior ministry officials, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs honoured 27 teachers, recognising their exceptional dedication and contributions to education.

In her speech, HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi praised teachers for their significant impact on Qatar’s development journey, stating: “Today’s celebration highlights your valuable efforts and allows us to express our deep appreciation for your meaningful contributions to our country’s progress and development.”

HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education also emphasised that education remains a key national priority, saying: “Aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has consistently championed the teaching profession, recognising educators’ vital role in shaping society and their profound impact on national development. A key example of this is our strategic project, under the slogan ‘Our Children’s Future is in Your Hands,’ which encourages Qataris to pursue teaching careers.”

The annual World Teachers’ Day celebration, attended by the Prime Minister, underscores Qatar’s commitment to educators and their crucial role in nuturing future generations.

The Ministry supports teaching through various strategic initiatives aimed at developing teachers’ capabilities, including Tumooh, Successful Start, Khebrat, and Tamkeen. These efforts also aim to build national educational leaders, contributing to Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy goals.
