Qatari Startups Drive Innovation and Global Ambition at Web Summit Qatar 2025

Web Summit Qatar 2025 concluded last month with homegrown talent taking centre stage to highlight their contributions to the country’s growing tech and innovation ecosystem. Over 220 startups took part, showcasing their innovations to investors, business leaders and attendees.

Among the standout local participants was Snoonu, whose Founder and CEO Hamad Al Hajri emphasised the importance of showcasing Qatari innovation on the global stage: “Snoonu’s participation in the second edition of Web Summit Qatar aims to elevate Qatari brands in a world of tech and innovation as part of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the drive to transform into a knowledge-based economy. It is a national duty for us to be part of this success.”

Representing local fintech innovation was Mohammed Al Delaimi, Founder and Managing Director of SkipCash and Co-founder and CEO of PayLater. Al Delaimi showcased how his platforms are transforming commerce by eliminating cash transactions for over 4,000 businesses while supporting 23,000 users across Qatar.

The summit also marked a milestone for adeer, a product and service management startup that launched during the inaugural Web Summit Qatar. Reema Al Kuwari, Founder and CEO of adeer, remarked that tech events like Web Summit “push Qatari startups to think big.” She noted that her journey – from 500 users at the first summit to over 2,500 today – demonstrates that Qatari startups can deliver global value while inspiring the next generation of women entrepreneurs.

Sarah Abdullah, Deputy General Manager of the Qatari Businessmen Association, emphasised the summit’s value as a knowledge exchange platform, stating: “We believe in opening up markets and introducing new business trends to our members. Web Summit is a conglomerate platform where leaders gather to explore innovative ideas in AI and fintech, and it offers invaluable learning opportunities for managers.”

Mohammed Khamis Al Sulaiti, Founder & Managing Director of Wqtah, showcased his startup’s all-in-one booking platform. He highlighted their role in supporting small projects, saying: “Rather than wait for government or semi-government entities, we take the initiative to help small businesses grow and contribute to Qatar’s digital transformation – in line with the goal of boosting tourism’s GDP contribution to 14%.”

Mishal Al Najem, Founder and Partner of B2B digital service provider Darb said, “Our digital platform was established in 2019 as the first of its kind, with the aim of connecting individuals and companies to a variety of services, including legal and accounting services, as well as event planning services and more, all in a single place.”

He added: “Our participation in Web Summit Qatar 2025 aims to amplify our media presence, introduce the public to services we offer while gaining their feedback. The summit was a valuable opportunity to connect with many entrepreneurs and investors, exchange experiences and benefit from their opinions.”

Web Summit Qatar 2025 drew 25,000 global attendees, including 1,520 startups from 120 countries. By bringing together global innovators, investors and thought leaders, events such as Web Summit Qatar provide essential platforms for measuring progress, forging international partnerships and accelerating the nation’s development into a leading regional technology hub powered by local talent, in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
