The launch ceremony was attended by HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, alongside other ministers, industry officials and partners.

Speaking at the event, HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, said: “The National Health Strategy 2024-2030 marks the beginning of a new phase in our journey towards achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 and Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030—to ensure enduring health for current and future generations.”

She added: “Guided by the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, we remain committed to sustainability and to building a healthcare system that caters to the population’s health needs, contributing to an exceptional quality of life in Qatar.”

HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari went on to showcase the strategy’s healthcare goals, which include increasing life expectancy to 82.6 years, reducing mortality rates from noncommunicable diseases by 36 percent and reducing infant mortality to 2 per 1,000 live births.

In a presentation at the launch ceremony, Dr Saleh Ali Al Marri, Assistant Minister of Public Health for Health Affairs, highlighted three priority areas under the National Health Strategy 2024-2030: improving population health and wellbeing, achieving excellence in service delivery and patient care and boosting health system efficiency and resilience.

Dr Al Marri added: “The Third National Health Strategy 2024-2030 was developed through extensive collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Its core mission isto build a health-focused society that is supported by an integrated healthcare system, centred on clinical excellence, sustainability and innovation—to nurture physically, mentally and socially healthy individuals.”

He continued: “The new strategy has identified 15 specific outcomes across three priority areas which are supported by a range of key initiatives and projects. These will be implemented through high-quality, comprehensive care across primary, secondary, specialised and community healthcare environments.”

The National Health Strategy 2024-2030 represents Qatar’s ongoing commitment to developing a comprehensive, world-class health sector. It aims to provide quality living for all its residents, positioning Qatar as an ideal place for families while reinforcing the nation’s global standing in healthcare excellence.
