HE the Prime Minister: The State of Qatar achieved great results from hosting the World Cup

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted that the State of Qatar has achieved great results on various economic and political aspects through its hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

In an interview with Qatar TV, HE the Prime Minister said that the tournament contributed to accelerating the implementation of development projects, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Government is improving the level of services provided to generate revenues and enhance its resources, HE the Prime Minister added, indicating that government services today are based on customer satisfaction. Several initiatives have also been launched to provide the best level of services.

HE the Prime Minister also noted the progress achieved in Qatari employment in the private sector, stressing the importance of the Government’s transparent job-seeker platform, which provides opportunities to citizens whilst ensuring the highest levels of training.

HE the Prime Minister also addressed topics around the State’s annual budget for the education and health sectors, which make up 20% of the State’s general budget. Praising the efficiency of Qatar’s health sector, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, HE the Prime Minister stressed the essential role of the education sector in supporting all other sectors. HE the Prime Minister further said that, for His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, the education sector holds the highest regard.

HE the Prime Minister also commended the strong performance and perspectives of the Qatari economy, highlighting the lower-than-average inflation rates of Qatar and adding that the Qatari economy had achieved a 38-fold jump in 30 years.

HE the Prime Minister reaffirmed the critical role of the Qatar Investment Authority as a fund serving as an insurance policy for future generations.

Announcing the prospective launch of the 3rd (and final) development plan to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030, HE the Prime Minister stated that it would “include ambitious plans to advance beyond where we are today.”

Answering an audience question on the retirement law and its executive regulations, HE the Prime Minister said that Qatar’s minimum pension salaries are one of the best in the world, and it may be comparable to the maximum salaries in other countries.
