The Government Communications Office (GCO) was established by Amiri Decree No. (27) of 2015 to coordinate communications activities across government and semi-government institutions and to showcase the country’s vision, initiatives and achievements.
Vision
To empower the State of Qatar to deliver clear, consistent and relevant communications to its public.
Mission
To be the strategic communication arm of Qatar’s government, providing the guidance and support needed for government and semi-government professionals to deliver effective public campaigns and strengthen the State of Qatar’s communications landscape.
Mandate
The GCO supports governance and sustainability practices to improve government communication mechanisms. Our approach encompasses facilitating the development of credible channels, ensuring the delivery of streamlined and transparent messaging and cultivating media partnerships to establish the GCO as a trusted source for state institutions and the wider community, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
