His Excellency the Prime Minister Participates in Consultative Ministerial Meeting of GCC, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the Qatari delegation participating in the Consultative Ministerial meeting hosted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — which included the GCC countries, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Iraq.
During the meeting, participants shared multiple points of view across several areas of concern within the region; these included reiterating that the Palestinian cause must be a prioritized topic, the condemnation of the illegal Israeli practices that undermine the two-state solution, the Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Israeli violations of the sanctity of holy places.
The participants also exchanged perspectives on efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis that would alleviate suffering for the Syrian people, preserve the country’s territorial integrity, and aid in addressing potential long-term implications.
