Government Communications Office statement in response to Doha News
The management of Doha News completed the application process for the accreditation of their journalists with Qatar News Agency (QNA) on 16 March 2021.
If Doha News had reached out to QNA prior to publishing their misinformed tweets, they would have been notified that their application has received approval and is undergoing final processing.
Doha News has been provided with the same opportunities as every other media outlet in Qatar. This includes giving them access to press conferences and events, and facilitating site visits and interviews.
The State of Qatar values all media outlets operating in our country and the journalists who travel here to report. We welcome engagement with all media and strive to ensure they can report in a free and comfortable manner.
