The Government Communication Office emphasizes the State of Qatar’s support for harmonious relations among societies and nations
The Government Communication Office (GCO) affirmed the State of Qatar’s support for harmonious relations among societies and nations all over the world and its constant endeavour to deepen ties and bonds between peoples and reject hatred among them.
The GCO said, in a statement issued last night, that the position of the State of Qatar has always been clear that peoples should not be involved in disagreements that arise between countries. The GCO added “Our countries will continue to draw their strength from the cohesion of our peoples and societies”.
In response to statements made during the past few days, the Government Communication Office said that Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (Expatriates Affairs Department) is the only authority legally authorized to issue all types of entry visas, according to the prior approval of the competent authorities and in accordance with the laws and regulations regulating this matter, as well as the joint agreements concluded with other States.
The GCO further stated that any statements beyond those legal frameworks do not represent the policy in force within the Ministry of the Interior.
The Government Communication Office emphasized in its statement that the State of Qatar is a country that welcomes peoples from all around the world, and that activities shared between peoples, whether in the field of culture, sports, tourism, as well as economic and other areas, are a way of connecting and bringing people of a nation together regardless of any disagreement between countries.
