AgriteQ and EnviroteQ exhibitions highlight promising best practices and equipment to promote sustainable development and food security

His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, opened the 9th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) 2022 and the 3rd International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ). The two events were organised by the Ministry of Municipality and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).

Attended by 50 countries and over 650 local and international businesses, the two five-day exhibitions included activities aimed at supporting agricultural development and food security. The events additionally highlighted various means of achieving self-sufficiency and promoting environmental protection in the State of Qatar.

During his visit, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani toured through the exhibitions’ various booths and sections, including ones representing participating Arab and foreign countries. He further learned about the latest technological tools and equipment used by local companies to promote best practices in agricultural and environmental areas.

The exhibitions presented a perfect opportunity to companies and individuals interested in agricultural industries. They also helped explore a wide variety of technical equipment and agricultural products, in addition to shedding light on best practices in these areas.

The exhibitions have additionally contributed to exchanging expertise and educating visitors on the latest developments in the agricultural and environmental sectors. The exhibitions helped design a roadmap towards achieving sustainable development and food security, in line with Qatar’s national strategies and the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Some 150 Qatari companies participated in the exhibitions, 60 of which specialised in agriculture, 50 in food industries, 25 in the environmental sector and several others in livestock and veterinary affairs. In addition, Qatar’s AgriteQ 2022 witnessed the participation of 80 local farms and 10 big gardening companies.
