GCO Director meets with French Gendarmerie Head of SIRPA
Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO), met with French General Jean-Valéry Lettermann, Head of the Directorate of Communications and Public Relations (SIRPA), at the GCO headquarters in Doha today. The meeting was part of the ongoing preparations for the Qatar security forces’ participation in securing the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The discussions explored the means to strengthen cooperation in the field of communications, the effective role played by the office in communication coordination between the relevant authorities in the State of Qatar, as well as discussing a number of related topics.
On his part, Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani affirmed the crucial role media plays in highlighting Qatar’s achievements and the extensive experience gained by its workforce, emphasising that this is a sustainable legacy that major international events seek to benefit from.
Earlier this year, Qatar and France signed a security agreement for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which is set to take place from July 26 to August 11.
Under this partnership, Qatari security forces are set to play a vital role in securing the Paris Olympics by providing support in several different fields.
