HE the Prime Minister Attends High-Level Arab Interior Ministers’ Council Meetings in Tunisia

His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, arrived in the Tunisian capital to take part in the 40th session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, hosted by the Republic of Tunisia. During his visit, His Excellency was accompanied by a number of Their Excellencies.

His Excellency and the accompanying delegation were received at Tunis-Carthage International Airport by HE the Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden Romdhane; HE the Minister of Interior Tawfiq Charafeddine; HE the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines Naila Nouira El Kenji in addition to a number of senior officials.

His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior started his visit to the Republic of Tunisia by meeting with His Excellency President Kais Saied, President of the Republic of Tunisia, at the Presidential Palace of Carthage.

His Excellency the Prime Minister conveyed the greetings and wishes of progress and prosperity from His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, to the Tunisian President and people.

The Tunisian President also conveyed his greetings and warm wishes for continued success, progress and prosperity to His Highness the Amir and the Qatari people.

During the visit, the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations and ways to improve them at all levels. They also affirmed their mutual aspiration to develop joint cooperation and improve relations in various areas, from energy, health and economy to employment, sports, IT and tourism. They further discussed relevant regional and international issues of common interest.

In addition, His Excellency the Prime Minister received His Excellency Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Interior of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, at his residence. The two government officials reviewed cooperation relations between Egypt and Qatar, especially in regard to security issues whilst also discussing a number of other issues of mutual interest.
