His Excellency the Prime Minister Launches the Qatar Cancer Plan 2023-2026
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has launched today the Qatar Cancer Plan 2023-2026. The Plan was launched during a ceremony at the Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center in the Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City.
Under the slogan “Excellence for All,” His Excellency the Prime Minister attended a presentation titled “A Journey Towards Excellence for All” and another presentation detailing the specifics of the Qatar Cancer Plan 2023-2026.
His Excellency the Prime Minister also attended a video presentation featuring experts, patients, medical facilities and the multidisciplinary team working to achieve the Plan.
Following the inauguration ceremony, His Excellency the Prime Minister toured the Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center, during which he learned about the various specialised medical departments for cancer care, which are equipped with the latest medical technologies in healthcare services.
In addition, His Excellency the Prime Minister visited laboratories for surgical skills, simulations of accident injuries and operations as well as virtual reality technologies related to the medical training plan for healthcare professionals.
His Excellency the Prime Minister was joined by Her Excellency Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, and senior officials in the healthcare sector.
The Qatar Cancer Plan 2023-2026 was prepared in cooperation with healthcare agencies in the State, with the support of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Plan’s outcomes are based on improving cancer care and highlighting the importance of investing in this field to further improve the population’s general health and well-being. The Plan also aims to achieve a positive return on investment and support the provision of sustainable healthcare services.
