The “Sustainable Transportation and Legacy for Generations” Conference & Exhibition Kicks Off

Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Jassim bin Saif bin Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport, inaugurated the “Sustainable Transportation and Legacy for Generations” Conference and Exhibition as part of ongoing efforts to enhance sustainability in the State of Qatar.

In his speech at the ceremony, HE the Minister of Transport emphasised that Qatar’s investments in developing infrastructure projects and supporting services for the transport sector were in response to the directives introduced by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, and led to the establishment of a comprehensive and sustainable transportation system that has enabled Qatar to efficiently host major international events.

The event was attended by HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of the Interior and Commander of the “Lekhwiya” Force; HE Sheikh Bandar Bin Mohammed Bin Saoud Al Thani, Governor of the Qatar Central Bank; HE Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Municipality; HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry; HE Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; and several officials from across the State and transportation sector.

During the exhibition, ministers and officials were briefed on the latest trends and technological innovations in the field of sustainable transportation. The exhibition also witnessed the signing of several agreements from the respective entities participating in the event.

The exhibition also hosted a series of workshops and discussion sessions between officials from various ministries and a range of experts and specialists, who addressed recent challenges and achievements across the transportation sector.
