The Government Communications Office Organises a Workshop to Improve Government Performance on Social Media
In cooperation with Meta, the Government Communications Office (GCO) has organised a “Government Best Practices” training workshop to improve government performance on social media platforms. The workshop witnessed participation from 35 government entities, represented by 108 employees specialised in managing social media platforms.
In his welcoming remarks, His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, the GCO Director, emphasised that the office will provide all government entities with the needed support by organising workshops and training courses with the goal of developing and improving government performance on social media platforms. His Excellency also spoke highly of the distinguished partnership between the GCO and Meta in various domains.
The workshop addressed several topics, including strategising to improve government performance on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger; developing awareness-raising campaigns that follows best practices; facilitating workflow; and increasing the efficiency of reaching target audiences.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first Meta workshop for government entities and part of the programme organised by the GCO Academy, which is planning to conduct more workshops and training courses this year.
