US and Qatar sign MoU on combating terrorism
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed today by the State of Qatar and the United States reinforces the existing strategic framework on counter terrorism and builds on the long history of cooperation and partnership between the US and Qatar. The MOU is the first of its kind between a GCC country and the US and includes participation from all relevant entities in both governments to ensure cooperation in key areas such as security, intelligence, and finance. Qatar believes the MOU should serve as a model for others in the GCC to create such a framework with the US to unite in the fight against terrorism. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with our American allies in the global effort to defeat Daesh.
