In the name of God the Merciful

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Esteemed Guests,

First of all, I would like to welcome you all here in Doha at the inauguration of the first International Products Exhibition and Conference. I’m delighted to convey to you His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, greetings and wishes of a successful event.

It is our pleasure to see this special participation and presence from fraternal and friendly states at this significant business conference.

Your Excellencies,

Esteemed Guests,

Economic cooperation and trade exchange among countries areimportant toolsfor countries to achieve economic growth and contribute to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through which we realise the aspirations of the nations and the international community. They also serve as means of communications andachieving mutual benefits and common interests of countries, something that drive us to emphasise the importance and the need for fostering cooperation among fraternal and friendly states on the various economic, business, and investment levels, especially within a global economic environment that remains uncertain and volatile, which requires intensifying efforts among states and establishing genuine, fulfilling partnerships.

This important event incorporates much of Qatar’s vision in terms of its role on the regional and international levelsand its deep belief in the importance of economic cooperation among countries. As such it established various economic agreements on the bilateral, regional, and international levels.

Esteemed Guests,

When the enlightened leadership of Qatar commenced the journey of sustainable development in the country years ago, we were confident that we were laying the foundation of success for our country, and we were hopeful of introducing a bright example for the nations in the region to follow in terms of developing their communities and providing decent standards of living for both citizens and residents.

And by the grace of God, the journey of development witnessed one success after another, and is still achieving accomplishments as we develop national strategies and economic diversification plans that the government carries out under the astute direction and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, to ensure welfare of our citizens.

In this context, we value the vital role the private sector plays in executing national strategies and plans to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030, and we count on its capabilities and potential as it proved its aptitude for developing many economic sectors of the economy and limiting the repercussions of the unjust blockade on Qatar. We look forward to a wider role for the private sector in managing and carrying out projects, and we will continue to catalyse the it to be the main driver of economic growth and development in the country in the coming period.

Away from numbers and statistics, which will be discussed by speakers during the conference sessions over the next two days, Qatar received high rankings in the global economic and development indicators in the past few years, and today it commences a new chapter to achieve sustainable development on economic, social, environmental and other levels, through executing many development projects and programs across various sectors, and it also witnesses a significant phase of implementing major development projects, in addition to the 2022 FIFA World Cup related projects.

Despite the repercussions of the unjust blockade on Qatar, the implementation of these projects is proceeding according to the set timelines as a result of the measures taken to deal with the crisis, increasing self-sufficiency of different commodities, fostering cooperation with fraternal and friendly states, and diversifying trade lines between Qatar and countries of the world.

Qatar has prioritised the process of fostering the business environment, as it updated the legislative framework, facilitated procedures, provided an advanced infrastructure to encourage local and foreign investmentsand increase trust in the business environment in the country. We will continue with developing our capabilities, ensuring that our nation continues to enjoy a decent life, looking to the future with confidence to its leadership and country.

As such, we took the initiative to organise this event, aiming to promote our partnership with fraternal and friendly states, and we invite them all to take advantage of the distinctive business opportunities Qatar has to offer across all sectors, especially in the industrial, agricultural, IT, education, and health sectors among others.

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am confident that the constructive discussions and ideas this conference will bring will strengthen the existing partnerships among participating countries on both public and private levels.

Once again, I thank you all for participating in the conference, and wish you a pleasant stay in Doha. I would also like to thank the organisers of the event for their valued efforts to put it together. We look forward to more participation from fraternal and friendly statesin the next years.

Finally, I wish all the success for this conference and that it achieves its goals, and that it serves as means to move forward to a more stable and prosperous future in the region.
