Qatar Economic Forum 2023 Concludes with Focus on Global Economy

The Qatar Economic Forum 2023, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, came to a close, marking the commitment of its participants to enhance global economic collaboration and jointly tackle global challenges to drive economic stability and growth.

Renowned economists, policymakers, business executives and intellectual leaders from around the world engaged in discussions on topics such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the future of work in an age of automation, exploring ways to utilise these technologies for sustainable economic growth and inclusive development.

Climate change and its implications for the global economy were a crucial focus of the Forum. Experts emphasised the urgency of addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable economic practices to meet both environmental and market imperatives. The Forum further underscored the need for collective efforts to combat climate change, adapt to its consequences and transition to a green and low-carbon economy.

Trade and investment were also key areas of dialogue, with participants exploring opportunities for collaboration and strengthening economic ties among nations. Discussions covered international trade policies, investment trends and strategies for enhancing global trade partnerships.

The Qatar Economic Forum 2023 additionally served as a platform for emerging markets to showcase their potential and attract investment. The discussions emphasised the importance of supporting developing economies, empowering entrepreneurs and promoting innovation to drive inclusive economic growth worldwide.

The Forum, which saw the signing of eight agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between participants, renewed its call for commitment to global cooperation. The success of the Qatar Economic Forum 2023 has once again reaffirmed Qatar’s dedication to being an active actor in shaping the global economic agenda and promoting international cooperation across all relevant areas.
